Vanessa Ohri began her career in Advertising as a Copywriter with Ogilvy and has since coupled her love for the written word with a passion for the stage. A Freelance Creative Consultant and theatre personality, her interests range from acting, scripting and direction, to penning poetry and training school children in the finer points of theatre. She is the author of the book, ‘Play it Right’ published by Scholastic which contains her original plays and poems for dramatization. Vanessa has also taught Advertising at NIFT, Delhi and is a co-founder of the Gurgaon based theatre company, Urban Suburban
Productions, conceptualizing, scripting and directing mega productions, like Fly High, Firefly!, Vexed In The City!, Just Kidding!, Deadly Ties! , God! I’m No Goddess! and Heaven on Fire! Her poem on Inclusion, ‘I Am Special’, written for Trinayni, the Mumbai based NGO for disability awareness, was featured in the previous edition of the Main Course CBSE English text for Class 10. It has also been translated into Hindi,
Marathi, Bengali and Braille.
