Nothing can dim the light that shines from within; such is the story of Tara. Born in a poor family with a drunkard father she witnessed her mother’s struggle to make the ends meet. She got married at the age of 13 and embraced motherhood a year later. Her husband was still studying and with no source of income she was not even able to buy milk for her daughter. Determined to change her circumstances she accompanied her friend who was working for Jaipur Rugs. The day she earned her first 10 Rs she bought milk for her daughter. Encouraged by Jaipur Rugs she learnt the art of carpet weaving. She would bring her daughter along to the weaving center and work in peace. Mother of two now, Tara dreams of having her own house some day and wants her daughter to become a police officer. She inspires other women to work instead of sitting idle.
