Kaavya Rajesh is a 17-year-old who started her nonprofit My Daughter Is Precious in Dhaka in March 2016 to raise funds and awareness for girls’ education. She has also started and led service organizations within her school that teach English to underprivileged children in the community. Kaavya received the Young Leader Creating a Better World for All award from the Women’s Economic Forum 2018 for her work. She was also a jury member for the Design For Change I Can contest.
Along with being a strong advocate for gender equality, Kaavya is an award-winning writer. She published her novel Girl Alone last year. She won a Gold Key in the International Scholastic Competition and other writing awards. Kaavya also writes for her school newspaper and has published several articles in the Hindustan Times.
She is also an avid photographer, keen debater, and theatre enthusiast.
